Empowering Young Men: Christopher A. Pugh II Center Participants Shined at the 2024 Steve Harvey Summer Camp

Christopher A. Pugh II Center Mentees had the unique opportunity to attend the 16th Annual “Boys Mentoring” Camp, hosted by the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation at the Steve & Marjorie Harvey Legacy Ranch in The Rock, Georgia.

The camp, held from June 12-16, 2024, was designed to empower young men aged 14-18, particularly those from single-mother households. The camp, held from June 12-16, 2024, was designed to empower young men aged 14-18, particularly those from single-mother households. During the camp, attendees learned essential life skills, including manhood principles and personal responsibility. Additionally, participants gained access to positive role models who helped them plan short and long-term goals.

The Steve Harvey Mentoring Program focuses on breaking negative stereotypes of manhood and replacing them with strong, positive examples, teaching young men how to envision and achieve their potential.

We are thrilled that this opportunity allowed our young men to build confidence, form lasting relationships with mentors, and gain valuable insights into what it means to be a man of integrity and purpose. In addition to the guidance they received, they also experienced the excitement and camaraderie of being part of a larger community of like-minded peers.

The Christopher A. Pugh Center is committed to offering such enriching experiences for the men and boys we serve, helping them break cycles of generational poverty and empowering them to become strong contributors to society. We are grateful to the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation for providing this life-changing opportunity and look forward to more young men from our center participating in future events.
