Styled for Success: Investing in the Future of Byhalia’s Young Men

At the Christopher A. Pugh II Center (CPC), we recently had the honor of hosting a group of young men from Byhalia High School for a powerful day centered on connection, confidence, and community. What began as a visit quickly became a meaningful experience filled with intentional conversations, mentorship, and support. From sharing breakfast together to engaging with professionals who poured into them with wisdom and encouragement, the day reflected what is possible when a community shows up for its youth.

A key highlight of the visit was CPC’s contribution through Christopher’s Closet, where we provided suits, shoes, and essential items to help these young men step into spaces with confidence and dignity. This effort also supported the launch of Byhalia High School’s very first clothes closet, an important initiative that will continue to serve students in their community. Special thanks to Anthony Buckner, Odie Tolbert, Jacques Nicole Causey, Chef Andrea Claxton, the Hope Church Memphis volunteers, and CPC participant De’Aunta Abston for making the day impactful through their presence and encouragement.

This experience carried forward into March during the Byhalia High School Career Fashion Show, where CPC had the privilege of styling the young men as they confidently presented themselves and their future aspirations. It was more than a fashion show; it was a moment of transformation. Because when confidence changes posture, posture changes presence, and presence creates opportunity. This is what true partnership looks like: investing in young men, building confidence, and strengthening futures together.
